On-Demand Online Training
- How long are each of the four modules?
- Online Recorded:
- Total Time: Approximately 9-12 Hours (depending on how much time is put in the classroom exercises and note taking):
- Module 1: Federal Rules and Regulations:
- USA: 2+ Hours
- Canada: 30 Minutes
- Module 2: Background of an Inspector: 2+ Hours
- Module 3: BMPs and Pollutants: 3+ Hours
- Module 4: Conducting Construction Site Inspections: 3+ Hours (this one will vary depending on the person)

- Yes, they are also available in live webinar formats:
- Are these self-learning modules or will there be an online instructor, where I will be required to sign up for a time slot?
- For the Online Recorded version, they are self-learning/self-paced sessions. No instructor is available. The link for these sessions are:

- Are there any quizzes provided per module?
- There are classroom exercises and quizzes during the various modules.
Certification Examinations
- What qualifications do I need to become a CISEC?
- What are the requirements needed to qualify for this certification?
- For the "Full" Certification Examination:
- At least one prior class, training or other education in sediment and erosion control, storm water pollution prevention or related fields. This education can be formal (e.g., webinar, classroom setting) or informal (e.g., in-house training, tailgate sessions, product demonstration, lunch & learn, brownbag lunch, etc.)
- A minimum of two years or more of sediment and erosion control construction and/or storm water pollution prevention field experience. If you are not sure if your work experience would apply, please contact us: examination@ecopliant.org. Please note, education (e.g., college classes) does not apply towards the two years work experience, with the following exception:
- You completed field work, internship, field sessions that have real life applications. For example, as a project you collected and tested water samples. In this case, the time spent in the field, testing and writing the report would count, but the classroom time would not.
- For the "In-Training" or IT Certification Examination, there are no work requirements.
- For the "Full" Certification Examination:
- Can you provide the email I will need to send my references, contact information and relevant job experience to?
- As the examination is online, we have an online application (found within the examination product after purchase) that you will be required to fill out. There is a place to download the reference form and a location to upload it within the product as well. Should a reference decide to send their form directly to us, they will want to use the following email: examination@ecopliant.org
- Do my references have to be CISECs?
- No
- Is this exam online or is it in person?
- It is offered online. The only exception is if an individual cannot access the examination via the internet: we can set up an in-person proctor.
- Does this exam only occur on provided dates or can I take it anytime?
- The examination is available 24/7.
- Who is the online examination proctored through?
- ProctorU: www.proctoru.com
- I am ready to take my exam and have submitted everything, what do I do now?
- For the Full Certification Examination, we require time to review your qualifications and references. We typically take no more than one week for review, but aks for up to two weeks in case there are questions.
- For the IT Certification Examination, we ask for up to 48 hours.
- Where do I get the "Proctor Verification Password"?
- This password is input by the proctor at the time of the examination.
- I cannot find any available exams when I log into the ProctorU website, where are the exams?
- If you are going through the "front" of ProctorU to schedule your examination, you will not see any terms or examinations under our organization. This is due to the fact that our examinations are hidden and require a specific weblink to access. When you get the approval email from us, it will include this link near the top of the email message.
- How long before my exam is graded?
- We ask for up to two weeks (holidays not included) to grade your examination.
- What is the passing score?
- 75% on each section.
- I got an email from the IECA eHub saying I failed, how do I sign up for a retest?
- Your final score will come directly from Ecopliant, so wait for that email and check your spam/junk folder. It will come from examination@ecopliant.org. If your final score is a Fail, we will send you information on the scoring and a link to reschedule your examination. If your examination has multiple sections, you will only have to retake the section(s) that you fail.
- When I pass, how and what will I get?
- You will receive a DocuSign email from us with a letter and contract that you will need to review, initial and sign. Once we have that back to us, we will send you an email with your Registrant Number, electronic wallet card and electronic wall certificate. We will mail to you a logo sticker and business card.
- US: Do I have to take the IT, Part 1, then the IT, Part 2 before taking the Full Examination?
- No. The Part 1 and Part 2 is a different path for those that do not have the two years work experience to take to become a Full Registrant over time. We recommend taking the Full Examination if you have the two years experience.
- Canada: Do I have to take the IT, Level 1, then the IT, Level 2 before taking the Full Level 3 Examination?
- No. The Level 1 and the Level 2 are different paths for those that do not have the two years work experience to take to become a Full Registrant over time. We recommend taking the Full, Level 3 Examination if you have two years experience.
Renewal
- Does this license/certification require a renewal?
- Yes, there is a yearly renewal fee and for the Full Registrants, a submittal of 12 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). For information about the PDHs and the categories that can be considered, please visit: https://ecopliant.org/what-qua...
- How long does this license last?
- One year.
- What cost is associated with renewing this license?
- Full Registrant:
- USA: $100 USD
- Canada: $100 CDN
- IT Registrant:
- USA: $70 USD
