This case study will present the interesting details of a particular operation on a specific interstate project. However, the approach to the work and the lessons learned will be even more impactful and are applicable to any land disturbing activity where water quality is a priority. Discussions of effectiveness versus compliance and connection between our responsibilities and our organization’s mission will serve as a backdrop for the more technical details of the story. Participants will see RUSLE in a new light and will appreciate just how ineffective sediment control can be, when it becomes the main focus of our efforts.
Learning Objectives:
- Connect our responsibilities with our mission.
- Present application of THE most effective construction stormwater management practices.
- Encourage effectiveness over compliance.
