Exploring Creativity in MS4 Training Opportunities
Presenter: Emily Meyers | Christopher B. Burke Engineering
Level: Intermediate
Duration: 1 hour
Type of Course: Live Webinar
Date: December10th, 2026 @ 12:00pm MST
Summary:
The conversation around stormwater and MS4 program funding is more important than ever as the availability of federal and state dollars is changing around the country. Luckily, there are creative ways to stretch budgets, especially through cost-shared partnerships that can be implemented regardless of an MS4’s demographics. We will present a partnership-building “roadmap” to set attendees up for success in evaluating their own MS4 programs and determining next steps to identify and begin working with local partners in their own communities.
We plan to present realistic approaches to building partnerships with local MS4 entities and state universities to conduct MS4 staff and local contractor education. We will discuss case studies of working with Indiana entities including Purdue University, the Tippecanoe County Partnership for Water Quality, and several others. This presentation seeks to give attendees ideas of how to build successful partnerships at the local level in order to achieve a more regional or watershed approach to effective stormwater education and management.
